"지회 설립 후 7개월, 성동조선에 많은 변화가 있었다. 회사 설립 이후 10년 넘도록 노동자들의 요구를 제기할 수 있는 논의기구가 없었다. 회사가 임의로 지정한 비공개 노사협의회만 있었을 뿐이다. 이런 성동조선에 지회가 생겼고 단체협약을 맺었다. 이제 아프면 아프다고 당당히 얘기하고 치료받을 권리를 찾았다. 나쁜 날씨 등으로 작업을 할 수 없을 경우, 예전에는 관리자들이 기약 없이 대기하라고 하거나, 작업을 못하고 퇴근하면 임금을 제대로 지급받지 못했다. 이제 달라졌다."
